Women's Cross Country Places 13th At NCAA Regional Meet

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University women's cross country team posted a 13th-place finish at the 2000 NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region Championships Saturday (Nov. 11). The Falcons had a team total of 332 points in the 31-team race, which was held in Ypsilanti, Mich.
Individually, senior Christine Thompson was the Falcons' top finisher. She placed 36th in the 217-woman race, finishing in a time of 22:13.0. Sophomore Joy Echler was 43rd in a time of 22:16.8, while freshman Amber Culp was 56th in a 22:23.7 time.
Other BGSU competitors included freshman Jordan Hartmann (80th, 22:47.2), sophomore Briana Killian (124th, 23:25.6), senior Lisa Mariea (131st, 23:33.8) and junior Lisa Schroeder (166th, 24:17.0).
The University of Wisconsin captured the team title with 65 points, outdistancing second-place Michigan (113 points). Individually, UW junior Erica Palmer won the race in a time of 20:17.1.
