TOLEDO, Ohio - The Bowling Green men's tennis team captured five of the six singles matches en route to a 5-2 victory over Ferris State in dual-match play. The contest was held at the Laurel Hill Swim & Tennis Club in Toledo.
The visiting Bulldogs captured the doubles point, with only BG's third-flight team of sophomore Mike Kossoff and freshman Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo emerging victorious. That duo won a 9-8 match, taking the tiebreaker by a 9-7 score.
Five of the six singles matches also required a tiebreaker, with Kossoff's straight-sets win at the fifth flight the lone exception. Vitek Wild captured a three-set match over FSU's Jan Talian at the top level, winning a third-set tiebreaker by a 7-2 result. Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo won in straight sets at the third flight, while brother Micael Lopez-Acevedo captured a three-set decision at flight number four.
Ed Kuresman was victorious in two sets at the sixth flight. BG's only singles loss came at the second flight, where freshman Geoff Hiscox fell to his Bulldog foe.
The Falcons, now 3-2 in dual play, are idle until a March 2 match at Kalamazoo College.
