Women's Finish Tied For Eighth In MAC Meet

The Bowling Green State University women's track and field team finished tied for eighth in the 11-team Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Eastern Michigan over the weekend.
Bowling Green finished the two-day meet with 16 points to tie Western Michigan for the eighth spot. Eastern Michigan took the team title with 142.67 points and were followed by Ball State (125), Akron (115), Kent (97), Central Michigan (81.33), Toledo (28), and Buffalo (25).
The top finisher for the Falcons was senior Andrea Cook who was third in the pole vault clearing 11-3 3/4 which breaks her own school record of 11-3 set earlier this season.
Junior Lori Williams was fifth in both the shot put (46-0 1/2) and the weight throw (52-2) while juniors Christine Thompson and Lisa Mariea picked up the other points with eighth-place finishes in the mile (5:08.35) and 5,000 (17:53.20), respectively.
