TOLEDO, Ohio - The Bowling Green men's tennis team lost by the narrowest of margins in the team's first of two matches Saturday (Feb. 5). Butler recorded a 4-3 win over the Brown and Orange in a match held at Central Tennis & Fitness in Toledo.
Butler captured the doubles point, taking two of the three matches. BGSU's lone victory came at the second flight, courtesy of a pair of freshmen, Geoff Hiscox and Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo.
In singles action, all six matches required the minimum two sets to complete. BG players fell at each of the top three flights, but the Falcons got wins from Micael Lopez-Acevedo at the fourth flight, Mike Kossoff at the fifth flight and Brandon Gabel at the sixth level.
The Falcons, now 1-2 on the young dual season, turn right around and play again Saturday afternoon. BGSU will host IUPUI at Toledo's Laurel Hill Swim & Tennis Club, with that dual scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
