Matela Named MAC Player of the Week

Bowling Green State University sophomore center Len Matela was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced.
Matela averaged 20.5 points and 12.5 rebounds as the Falcons split a pair of games.
He had 24 points and 16 rebounds in BG's loss at Ball State before scoring 17 points and adding nine rebounds in their win over Ohio at home.
He shot 68.0% (17-of-25) from the field in the two games leading the squad in scoring in both contests.
Matela leads the nation shooting 64.3% from the field. He is fifth in the MAC in rebounding (7.9 rpg) and fourth in free throw percentage (81.0%). He is averaging 13.2 points for the season and 15.8 points and 8.7 rebounds in conference action.
