Women's Golf Tied For 12th After First Day

SEBRING, Fla. - After one day of action, the Bowling Green women's golf team is tied for 12th at the 18-team Springlake Classic in Sebring, Fla. The two-day tournament, hosted by Northern Illinois University, will conclude with 18 holes Saturday (March 11).
Through Friday's (March 10) 18 holes, BGSU has a team score of 328 to deadlock with Creighton for 12th place. Ohio University has a one-day total of 296 strokes to lead second-place Illinois by 10 strokes.
Individually, Shelly Binzel paced the Falcons with a score of 79 after one day's action. Missy Hinds shot an 81 on Friday, while Shannon Sharp had an 83-stroke total.
Laurin Kanda of Illinois and Ohio's Julee Sovesky are tied for the individual lead, after each shot a 72 on Friday.
The tournament concludes Saturday at the Springlake Country Club.
