ORLANDO, Fla. - Sophomore Rebekah Tipton threw a complete-game two-hitter as the Bowling Green softball team completed a doubleheader sweep of arch-rival Toledo, 4-0, Friday (March 10). The games were played at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.
Tipton threw the first shutout of her career as the Falcons (8-3) won for the eighth consecutive game. The Brown and Orange outhit the Rockets by a 6-2 margin.
At the plate, senior Colleen Bates led the Falcons, with half of the team's hits. Bates went 3-for-3 and drove in a run.
The Falcons will return to the field Friday night to take on Buffalo at 6:00 p.m.
