BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - For the third time on the weekend, the Bowling Green men's tennis team won every match en route to a 7-0 win over Robert Morris. The match was held at Keefe Courts on the BGSU campus.
The victory marked BG's fifth consecutive shutout win. The Falcons of head coach Jay Harris are now 9-4 in dual-match play this season.
Sophomore Vitek Wild led the Falcon charge vs. the Colonials, with a straight-sets win at the number-one singles flight. A trio of freshmen -- Geoff Hiscox, Peter Gardonyi and Micael Lopez-Acevedo -- all won in the minimum two sets at flights two through four, respectively.
At the fifth flight, sophomore Mike Kossoff won a 6-0 first set before his RMC opponent, Mamoun El Kattani, retired. The Falcons' lone senior, Sonny Huynh, did not lose a game on the way to a sixth-flight win.
In doubles, Wild teamed with junior Brandon Gabel for a win at the top flight, while Hiscox and Micael Lopez-Acevedo were triumphant at the second flight. Huynh and freshman Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo won by default at the third doubles level. The Falcons hit the road for a Wednesday (March 29) match at Louisville.
