Tomasheski Throws to Third All-Time in Javelin at GVSU Extra Weekend Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. — Lily Tomasheski delivered Bowling Green's highlight at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet, recording a javelin throw of 40.84 meters Friday to finish second and move into third place on the program's all-time list.
Tomasheski backed up her javelin performance Saturday with another personal best, putting the shot 13.37m to place third. The double-event standout weekend highlighted a strong showing for the Falcon throws group across both days of competition.
In the hammer throw, Grace Bradtmueller led the way for BGSU with a fifth-place finish at 46.10m. Sierra Podolan (40.19m), Natalie Vrancken (40.03m), Emma Hoffman (39.72m) and Sydney Williams (37.67m) competed as well. Elizabeth Wilson also represented the Falcons in the javelin, throwing 31.07m.
Saturday's discus competition featured Vrancken finishing second in the open section at 42.81m. Podolan (40.34m, eighth) and Bradtmueller (39.56m, 10th) also placed, while Hoffman competed in the invitational section with a throw of 40.14m. Podolan added a seventh-place finish in the shot put at 12.80m.
On the track, Nora Ritting ran a 4:55.40 in the 1500 meters. In the 5000, Madison Foster posted a season-best 18:26.26 and Clare Valenza completed the event in 21:00.37.
Bowling Green returns to action May 1 at the Jesse Owens Invitational in Columbus.
