Montreal Expos rookie infielder Andy Tracy, a graduate of Bowling Green State University and Bowling Green High School, recorded his first major league hit in the Expos 10-4 triumph over the Colorado Rockies last night (April 25).
Tracy pinch-hit for Montreal starting pitcher Carl Pavano with two outs in the sixth inning and drilled a run-scoring single off reliever Julian Tavares to make it 6-4.
"That was a good team win," Montreal manager Felipe Alou said. "All wins are team wins, but there were some big hits in the sixth and seventh innings. We got to see Tracy get a big hit in his first at-bat, Vlad started that inning, Vidro had a big hit and so did Stevens. Barrett had a real big one with the bases loaded."
Tracy becomes the first Falcon under Coach Danny Schmitz to reach the major leagues and the 12th in the history of BGSU baseball.
