Ann Arbor, MI -
Bowling Green snapped its seven-game losing streak rallying from a 4-2 deficit to post a 9-5 triumph at Michigan.
Sophomore pitcher Brad Henry pitched the final 6.2 innings allowing one run on six hits to record his first collegiate victory. Deryck Griffith, in his second collegiate start, allowed four runs in 2.1 innings.
The Falcons scored twice in the first inning without a base hit. Aric Christman and Len Elias each walked on four pitches. A balk moved both runners up a base, with Christman scoring on Alan Gilhousen's groundout. Elias scored on Sean Ryan's sacrifice fly.
After Michigan had taken a 4-2 lead, BG scored twice in the fifth to tie the game. Nick Elrod doubled and on the very next pitch Matt Marcum hit his first home run of the campaign.
The Falcons went ahead to stay with three runs in the seventh inning. Nick Elrod singled, and after a strikeout, Nick Schmidt singled. A groundout moved both runners up a base, and Aric Christman drilled a 2-1 offering over the left field fence.
BG tacked on two more runs in the eighth when Sean Ryan had a leadoff double and scored when Lee Morrison hit a 1-1 pitch over the right field fence.
BG is now 26-22-1 overall, while Michigan falls to 18-29-1. The Falcons will play host to Dayton on Wednesday. First pitch at Steller Field is scheduled for 3 p.m.
