Women's Tennis Gets Into Win Column

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team broke into the win column, downing Indiana State University by a 6-1 count Saturday (Jan. 27). The neutral-site match was held at Bloomington, Ind.
Three seniors captured wins at the top-three singles flights. Meghan Rhodes was a winner at the top flight, while Abby Bratton won in a tiebreaker at flight #2. Erika Wasilewski was a straight-sets victor at the third level.
Other BGSU singles winners included junior Devon Bissinger and freshman Lisa Maloney at the fourth and fifth flights, respectively. Senior Tracy Howitt lost in a tiebreaker at the sixth flight.
The doubles teams of Bratton/Bissinger and Wasilewski/Maloney won at the top-two flights, but the team of Rhodes and freshman Gaby Coello lost at the third level. All three matches finished with 8-6 scores.
The Falcons were scheduled to return to action later Saturday with a match against host Indiana University.
