BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University cross country teams will head to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the Wolverine Interregional on Sunday (Oct. 14). The meet, hosted by the University of Michigan, will be held at the U-M Golf Course.
The women's 5,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the 8,000-meter men's race at 11:15 a.m. According to the University of Michigan web site (mgoblue.com), tickets for the meet will cost $4 for adults and $2 for students, and will include admission to both races.
Both races are small, in terms of number of teams entered, but should provide stiff competition. The men's field includes #12 Michigan, Montana State, Pennsylvania, Purdue and Western Michigan, in addition to the Falcons. The women's race includes BGSU, Michigan, Montana State, #8 North Carolina, Ohio State, Purdue and #14 Wisconsin.
Sunday's meet marks the final tune-up for both Falcon squads prior to the Mid-American Conference Championships. The league meet will be held Oct. 27 in Ypsilanti, Mich.
