BGSU vs. Akron

BG Head Coach Urban Meyer
"What an effort...A football team that reacted. I put a lot risk on us by relying on the seniors so much. But what an effort by the seniors. We beat one of the better teams in the MAC...as well a coached team as we play."
"Cole Magner really supplied a spark. (Andy) Sahm was hurting with a hip pointer, but what an effort for him to come back in and get the win. We're going to have to run the ball to win this kind of game, especially with some injuries to the passing game."
BG Quarterback Cole Magner
"It is pretty easy to run when your line is creating the kind of holes they were on that TD. I went right, turned up and there was hole you could drive a truck through and I just ran for the endzone."
BG DL Chris Glantzis (On game-tying safety)-
"When it came down to it, I'm glad the pressure was in the defense and not the offense, and that we came through. That's important to us.
Akron Head Coach Lee Owens
"We score three times and they score once and they are right back in it. They're a good defense and they stepped up when they had to. It was good to get points, but we would have loved to finish a couple of those drives. It was a big difference."
"I'm spent. I don't have any emotions left at all. Over the two weeks we go from potentially 4-0 (in the MAC) to 2-2 on essentially a few plays. Our opponents made the plays and we didn't."
Akron DL Chris Smith (On BG QB Cole Magner)
"Our plan was just getting after them. Lots of blitzes, lost of line stunts. And they caught us on a couple of them and hit us in the right place at the right time."
"Our goal was a MAC Championship, and as faint as that is right now, we just need to change our goals and win out these four games."
Akron QB Charlie Frye (On field goals instead of TD'S)
"As we got closer in the red zone, they brought a lot and stalled our offense. That took us out of our game. 21 points versus 9 points...a big difference."
