The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team is picked to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference's East Division, but received the fourth highest overall votes to win the 2002 MAC Tournament. Five of the seven teams to receive votes for winning the post-season tournament are in the East Division. The poll was announced at today's MAC Media Day in Cleveland.
The Falcons return four starters and nine letterwinner from last year's team which won eight of its final 13 games of the season.
The Falcons will open the season November 15 against NCAA Sweet 16 participant Ole Miss at the Top of the World Classic in Fairbanks, Alaska. BGSU will host exhibition games, Sunday, November 4 (Foreign Select), at 2 p.m. and Thursday, November 8 (Shawnee State) at 7 p.m.
The Falcons play one of their most attractive home schedules (Michigan, Detroit, Marist and UNC-Wilmington highlight the non-conference slate) in school history, and as a result, season ticket sales are well ahead of previous years totals. To ensure a seat at historic Anderson Arena this season, order your season tickets online or call 1-877-BGSUTICKET. Orders for single game tickets will begin being filled after November 1 on a space available basis.
