Susie Norris Named MAC Player Of The Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University sophomore Susie Norris (Bascom, Ohio/Hopewell-Loudon) has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week, the conference office has announced. Norris earns a MAC weekly award for the first time this season, and for the third time in her Falcon career.
Norris, a left-side hitter, helped the Falcons to a 2-1 record last week, including a pair of wins against East Division foes. She led the Brown and Orange in hitting percentage (.360), kills per game (4.70) and digs per game (4.40) on the week.
Norris had match-high totals of 19 kills and 17 digs in Wednesday's (Oct. 24) four-game loss at Ball State. She hit a team-high .405 in that match.
In Friday's three-game (Oct. 26) sweep of visiting Buffalo, Norris again led all players with 17 kills. She had nine digs to lead the Brown and Orange, and had a .342 hitting percentage.
On Saturday (Oct. 27), Norris had 11 kills, a match-high 18 digs and a .320 hitting pct. as the Falcons again posted a sweep. BGSU downed Ohio in three games.
The Falcons (14-6 overall, 7-5 MAC) of head coach Denise Van De Walle are home for a pair of matches this weekend. BGSU will host Central Michigan in Friday (Nov. 2) action, before meeting East Division-leading Akron Saturday (Nov. 3) night. The Falcons are in third place in the East, a game behind the Zips.
Start time for both of this weekend's matches will be 7:00 p.m.
