Women's Cross Country Places Eighth At ND Invite

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Bowling Green State University women's cross country team recorded an eighth-place finish in the Gold Division race at the Notre Dame Invitational. The 14-team race was held at the Notre Dame Golf Course Friday (Oct. 5).
The Falcons had a team score of 183 points. Calvin College won the race with a team total of 34 points.
Individually, the Falcons were led by junior Joy Echler, who placed fourth in the 5K, 117-runner race. Echler finished in a time of 18:12. The individual winner of the race was Toronto's Sasha Gollish, in a time of 17:54.
Other Falcon finishers included freshmen Melissa Krueger (45th, 19:36), Elise Gould (49th, 19:40) and Nicole Suitor (53rd, 19:43), junior Christy Paine (59th, 19:57), senior Sarah Lohrbach (64th, 20:04), sophomore Amber Culp (103rd, 21:17) and junior Kristin Spicer (105th, 21:25).
The Falcons now prepare for the Michigan Interregional on Oct. 14. That race, in Ann Arbor, Mich., will be the Falcons' final tune-up before the Mid-American Conference Championship. The league meet will be held in Ypsilanti, Mich., on Oct. 27.
