ON LAST WEEK
"That was a great atmosphere for a college football game and probably one of the best I've been involved in. It was two good teams competing for a championship in November and our student body came out in full force One of our objectives was to create interest and enthusiasm in our program and I think we've done that."
"I think the season is far from over and I cant wait to see our team rebound like we have after our other two setbacks . It's key that we come back and win this game and get that sixth win."
"We had opportunities at times and we are not productive on offense right now and that is being addressed. Our special teams was outstanding. Effort is not the issue once again, we played well but we have to learn to win. Your playmakers need to make plays and you need to do a better job as a coaching staff of putting the ball into the hands of the playmakers and I don't believe we did that."
ON REDD'S RETURN AND TOUCHES
"I always tell the Cris Carter story(when he was at OSU) and he would come off the sidelines just screaming and cursing and yelling saying "give me the ball." And Earl Bruce, who is a hard-nosed, tough-coach, what do you think he did? He gave him the ball. So I always tell that story to guys who wants that ball in the fourth quarter, and Redd kept coming up to me . I always tell them, if you say that you want it, you better do something with it when I give it to you and you could see that in him (Redd)."
"So we had a decision to make, I love to block punts but we've not had much success doing that but we have been much better at returning. And the last two returns, we had them backed up that's so against what I do, I love to go after the punt, but when I saw Redd looking at me, he helped me make that decision. We went full return on both of them and both were great returns. The one was one of the best I've ever seen but it was also extremely well blocked. We had FOUR knockdowns, four de-cleaters on the TD."
ON MULTIPLE QB'S
"At the beginning of season I saw it as an advantage, I saw it as a way to get two better players on the field. I saw it as a way to get defenses off balanced. And I think they've earned that. As the season progressed, Josh Harris has been injured a chunk of it, he has not been full speed, so you never saw the true Josh Harris, even back in the spring. Andy Sahm has picked the offense up really well, Cole Magner is one of those play-makers I was talking about. I am actually to the point where I want to start narrowing down the QB."
ON MIXING UP THE OFFENSE
"I wish we would have scored, we did a nice job moving the ball down the field. I think you'll see some form of it again, maybe this week, I personally like to run our stuff, but when that's not working you can not let your defense down, you can't let your special teams down."
"We need to create points and I do think it's a good change of pace and its good to let Cole touch the ball and spread the field and create mismatches and he did a nice job, he went from our 35 to their 35 and we just stalled."
ABOUT OHIO AND THE DANGER OF FACING A WOUNDED TEAM
"I think there is, and I think there is more of a danger if it's a talented team and they are talented. I wish they were awful to be honest with you, but they are not! They've lost some real close games and had some key injuries. We have to be ready."
