McLeod Named MAC Player of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio - Bowling Green's Keith McLeod (East Division) and Western Michigan's Robby Collum (West Division) were selected as winners of the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week award for the fifth week of the 2001-02 season (games of Dec. 10-Dec. 16).
MAC East Division Player of the Week
Bowling Green's Keith McLeod (6-2, Sr., G, Canton, Ohio) averaged 24.5 points and four steals as the Falcons defeated UNC-Wilmington 84-83 in overtime and Evansville 84-72. Scored 16 points against UNCW, including the game-winning three-point basket with 4.3 seconds left in the overtime period. Hit 11-of-11 free throws en route to scoring 33 points at Evansville, matching his career-best point total. Has either tied the game, given BGSU the lead or ex-tended a Falcon lead to two possessions in six of Bowling Green's eight victories.
MAC West Division Player of the Week
Western Michigan's Robby Collum (6-1, Jr., G, Racine, Wis.) totaled 26 points, eight assists, four rebounds and a steal in Western Michigan's back-to-back road victories over Virginia Tech (55-51) and Wisconsin-Milwaukee (59-51). Tallied a game-high 14 points against the Hokies, while adding five helpers. Connected on 6-of-6 free throws in the final 1:08 to seal the Broncos' victory. Finshed with 12 points at UWM, while adding three assists and two rebounds, as the Broncos' posted their first consecutive non-MAC road wins since the 1997-98 season.
