"This is a great feeling, a big win for us. We wanted to start the beginning of the season on the right note and end this before Christmas on a right note ."
"Guys really fought hard in the second half and that was huge. Everyone stepped up and the defense was a lot more solid in the second half. That was a big emphasis Coach Dakich made at halftime and it was good to see we stepped up."
"We have to get to a point where we play 40 minutes (on defense). We play really good in spurts and as soon as we can really lock up and do that for 40 minutes, I think we have a really good chance to be a really good basketball team. For right now we just have to keep working on it."
(on the buzzer desperation three-pointer he made)
"We were just running the clock and I saw the shot clock was down and I tried to get a shot off. I just got my shoulders straight and it just happened to go in, a lucky shot."
Coach Dan Dakich
"I thought our defense was very good."
"We only ask McLeod to do everything in the world, score game-winning shots, handle the ball, and I don't know what Willie Green scored after we moved McLeod on him but it wasn't a whole lot. He, Brandon and Lenny were obviously very good."
"You are not going to hold anybody 12 minutes without a field goal and it probably won't ever happen again, particularly against a team like this."
"I have a great deal of respect for (Coach) Perry (Watson). All he has done is win everywhere he goes, high school, at Michigan, at Detroit. He's a great coach and runs a great program."
"I consider them to be among the top 40 programs and this was an excellent win for us"
"You try to improve as you move through the non-conference season and you are also trying to accumulate wins so that maybe you can do something in the post-season."
