CORAL GABLES, Fla. -
BGSU HEAD COACH CURT MILLER:
"Both teams obviously had a few cobwebs. Yale hadn't played since (December) 11th, and we hadn't played since the 15th, so there were some cobwebs there. But, both teams knew a lot about each other the second time around [NOTE: the teams met on Nov. 23]. I think they did a good job of taking away some of the things we wanted to do, and we did an excellent job of taking away what they were trying to accomplish offensively."
"Yale played a lot of zone. We have not shot the ball at the arc very well this year, so we thought they would play a lot of zone. We got a ton of looks at the arc that, on a given night, maybe we make 10 and threaten some school records. But, it's a snowball effect, when people lose their confidence in shooting (three-point field goals), the whole team seems to lose confidence. This is the second game in a row where we had great looks at the arc and lost the game, when all we have to do is step up and make one or two more. I felt like, if we made a big 'three' against Yale, we're talking about a BG win -- an ugly win, but a win that is much needed."
"We (coaches) talked very positively in the lockerroom after the game. For nearly 40 minutes tonight, we cared and we played hard. We wanted to win, and we played hard enough to win, we just didn't make quite enough plays to win."
"I'm encouraged with our defense, and I'm encouraged that we had two people with 10 rebounds. I think Kelly Kapferer can be a factor inside in the MAC. We're going to continue to keep getting looks for her. I'm really pleased with her play."
"Overall, we're not devastated with this loss, but we're disappointed. We, again, played well enough defensively to win, but we just haven't clicked offensively this season, especially with Francine (Miller) out."
"As Stefanie Wenzel said after the last game, we're close to getting over the hump. We still believe in what we're running and what we're trying to do. We just need to step up and make enough shots to win."
