Falcons Finish Second Day of Competition

The Bowling Green Falcons finished their second day of competition at the Notre Dame Invitational. Saturday (Dec. 8) marks the final day of competition with prelims starting at 10:00 a.m. and finals set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Freshman Robert McRae was the highest finisher for the Brown and Orange, with a third place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 51.42. Three other Falcons placed in the 100 fly event. Kevin Anderson finished 11th with a time of 53.07, Kyle O'Hara finished 19th with a time of 56.28 and Adam Brown finished 21st in a time of 56.94.
James Weidner finished the 400 IM with a time of 4:34.45, good for a 13th place finish. Dan Reese was the only Falcon to place in the 200 free, finishing 24th in a time of 1:48.66. Three BG swimmers placed in the 100 breast, however. Ray Bartel was the highest finisher, swimming 58.40 to finish seventh. Teammates James Weidner (1:06.39) and Chris Thomas (1:06.69) finished 20th and 21st, respectively.
Like the 100 fly, four Falcons placed in the 100 backstroke. Paul Bizzarro was the first in for the Falcons, finishing 12th with a time of 54.24. Close behind was Robert McRae with a 54.64, good for 14th. Lee Whitson was 18th in a time of 56.79 and Kyle O'Hara was 21st in a time of 59.37.
The 200 medley relay made up of Robert McRae, Ray Bartel, Kevin Anderson and Adam Brown finished sixth in a time of 1:35.51. The 800 freestyle B relay of Paul Bizzarro, Tom Mohlman, Lee Whitson and Adam Brown was seventh in a time of 7:16.51,while the A relay of Kevin Anderson, Bobby McRae, Dan Reese and Kyle O'Hara was ninth in a time of 7:27.23.
