BG Women Finish Fifth in Notre Dame Invitational

South Bend, Indiana - In the final day of competition at the Notre Dame Invitational, the Bowling Green State University women swam to a fifth-place finish in South Bend. Notre Dame was their last meet before the Christmas break.
In the first event of the night, sophomore Jessica Humes swam to the highest finish for the Falcons, touching the wall fourth in the mile swim with a time of 17:35.20. Teammate Angie Jones was 19th, swimming 19:05.98. Jones was also 19th in the 200 fly, with a time of 2:22.02.
The Falcons placed two, as well, in the 200 back. Jessica McCune was 20th with a time of 2:19.77, while Janice Rice was 21st, finishing in 2:21.57.
Kim Moden was 16th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.74, nearly a second and a half faster than her season best. Humes was 22nd in a time of 55.27.
In the 200 breaststroke, four Falcons qualified for the finals. Freshman Sarah Agnew was the top finisher for the Brown and Orange, coming in fifth with a time of 2:24.09. Erin Dilkes was 10th in 2:29.21, Katy Monnette was 18th in 2:37.82 and Amber Adler was 21st with a time of 2:42.37.
The final event of the meet was the 400 free relay. The A relay of Moden, Davies, Smith and Humes finished eighth in 3:44.30. The B relay of Coburn, Mulshine, Rice and Dawes was 10th with a time of 3:54.97.
