BGSU Gymnastics Falls to Michigan State

Bowling Green, OH - The Bowling Green women's gymnastics team slipped to 5-5 after dropping a close competition to nationally ranked Michigan State in a match held Sunday at BGSU's Eppler Center. BGSU junior Marny Oestreng (Trogstad, Norway) captured first place in three events, but it wasn't enough as the 25th ranked Spartans held on for a 195.075-194.700 victory.
Oestreng won the floor exercise with a score of 9.950 and also was victorious in the vault (9.875) and bars (9.925). Freshman Pia Sjovall (Skarer, Norway) ended the day with a pair of second place finishes in the floor (9.900) and the vault (9.825).
The Falcons return to action Friday when they host Ball State at 7:00 p.m. at Eppler Center.
