NO TIME FOR PRACTICE
The Falcons are in a stretch that will see them play their final four regular season games in a span of seven days. BGSU will host Akron, Toledo, and Miami and visit Marshall as it fights for seeding in the MAC Tournament which begins March 5.
SENIOR NIGHT
This will be the third straight year that BGSU has been the visitor for the final regular season home game for Marshall. This will be the third game in five days for BGSU, while Marshall has had six days off since defeating Northern Illinois, 81-65, in Huntington last week.
DEFENSIVE CONCERNS
After allowing teams to shoot just 41.3 percent from January 31 to February 20, the Falcons have seen Akron and Toledo each shoot 50 percent from the field. It marks the first time this season that BGSU's opponents have made at least half of their shots in consecutive games.
ALL-MCLEOD
Junior Keith McLeod is making a bid for first-team All-MAC honors. He is the second leading scorer in conference games (19.0) and third in steals (1.9). He is 30th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,050 points.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 49th meeting in a series which began in 1953. The Falcons have won five straight and lead the overall series, 27-21. Last year, BGSU defeated the Herd in Huntington, 88-83, to clinch the MAC regular season title. BGSU also won in the Henderson Center, 78-72, in 1999. BGSU won the earlier meeting two weeks ago, 82-69.
ALMANSON STEPS UP
Freshman Josh Almanson a candidate for the All-MAC Freshman team had a MAC career-best 16 points against Toledo. He was seven of nine from the field off the bench.
BGSU WINNING MAC ROAD RECORDS
With the win at Eastern, the Falcons will have posted back-to-back winning seasons in the MAC. The Falcons were 5-4 a year ago and are currently 5-3 on the road this season. This marks the first time since 1962 and 1963 that BGSU has had a winning MAC road record in consecutive seasons.
FREE THROWS
The Falcons have the best free throw percentage in the MAC and rank seventh in the country entering this week. BGSU is 11-4 over the last two seasons when they shoot 80 percent or better from the line.
PARDON THIS
Junior point guard Brandon Pardon has had three turnovers or less in a game 12 times this season. He is averaging 36.9 minutes per game and has played every minute of a game four times this season.
THE HOUSE THAT ROARS
Since the 1998-99 season, the Falcons are 32-6 at home overall, 21-5 against the MAC, and 12-2 against East Division rivals.
MORE THAN 4,000
The Falcons had a season-high 4,706 fans attend Monday night's Toledo game. Tuesday night's game against Kent State brought out a season-high 4,057 fans to Anderson Arena. Last year, BGSU drew 4,000 fans or more at home against Toledo, Miami, Akron, Kent State and Eastern Michigan.
2000-2001 TEAM NOTES
The Falcons had a season-low seven turnovers against Marshall. The 10 free throw attempts taken by Marshall was the fewest a BGSU opponent has taken this season.
The Falcons won four straight MAC games by 10 points or more for the first time since 1964.
With the exception of the first Kent State game, BGSU has led late in the second half in each of its MAC losses.
BGSU leads the MAC in scoring (77.7), free throw percentage (77.0), steals (7.95), and assists (15.6).
Since February of 1999, the Falcons have a 42-22 record (.660). In that time, BGSU is 15-8 in games decided by 10 points or less.
One of the top shooting teams in the country last season (4th, 49.2%) BGSU eclipsed the 50 percent shooting mark, 15 times last season and has done so on nine occasions this year. The Falcons have a 21-3 record in the last two years when they make at least half of their field goal attempts.
During the last 11 games, BGSU has held opponents under 70 points on eight occasions.
