Bowling Green, Ohio - BG (11-5) gave up three runs in the 9th inning to Michigan (9-8) to lose the first non-conference home game of 2001 at Steller Field. Bowling Green scored one run in each of the first two innings. Senior CF Aric Christman led off with his first triple of the season, and was batted in by senior RF Lee Morrison on a SAC Fly. In the second inning, sophomore 2B Corey Loomis slammed his second home run of the season, a solo shot.
Michigan scored their first run in the third inning, when Scott Tousa scored after Jordan French was walked with the bases loaded. Michigan would go on to score three more as they were helped by home runs from CJ Ghannam and Gino Lollio in the 6th and 7th innings respectively.
