PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bowling Green State University men's tennis team, one week after breaking into the national rankings for the first time in school history, have moved up 11 spots in the latest rankings.
The Falcons of head coach Jay Harris are ranked 64th in the country in the latest WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings. The rankings, released Wednesday (March 28), are administered and released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
This is the second week of the season where the rankings are determined by the ITA's point-per-match computer formula. The first eight rankings were determined by a poll due to the fact there are not enough results early in the season to administer a computer ranking.
UCLA holds down the top spot in the men's Division I top 25 for the sixth-straight week. For the second consecutive week, BGSU is the only Mid-American Conference school listed in the rankings.
The Falcons, 12-7 overall and 1-0 in MAC action, will face Western Michigan University on the road in a Saturday (March 31) dual. That contest begins at 1:00 p.m. Following the WMU match, BG will begin a six-match homestand with an April 7 match vs. the University of Toledo at Keefe Courts.
The WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings are released each Wednesday.
