Heldt Earns All-American Honors in the High Jump

Eugene, Oregon - Senior Stephanie Heldt (Toledo/Central Catholic) earned All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships when she finished in a seventh place tie in the high jump with a mark of 5-9 3/4. She also earned All-American honors in the event at the 1999 NCAA Championships.
Heldt's accomplishment makes her the fourth women's track athlete in BGSU history to earn multiple All-American honors in her career. Emily Cokinos earned All-American honors in the javelin in 1997 and 1998, Nikki Lessig was a two-time indoor All-American in the shot put in 1994 and 1995, while Beth Manson earned outdoor All-American recognition in the discus in 1988 and 1989.
