Three Added to Athletic Staff

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University athletic department announces the following staff additions and changes for the 2001-2002 academic year.
Billy Gonzales has been named wide receivers coach, replacing Stan Drayton, who joined the staff of the Green Bay Packers. Gregg Brandon has moved from coaching wide receivers to running backs and will assume the title of assistant head coach/offensive coordinator. Brandon joined the Falcon staff as offensive coordinator after spending the last two years at Colorado.
David Sayler has been named assistant athletic director for financial affairs. He replaces Lauren Kelly who left for the University of Houston.
Brian Corvino has been named director of athletic promotions. He replaces Frank Cuervo who left to join the staff at the University of Missouri.
The following are full bios of each new staff member.
BILLY GONZALES, WIDE RECEIVERS
Billy Gonzales joined the BGSU staff after spending six years as an assistant coach at Kent State. With the Golden Flashes, he spent three years in charge of the wide receivers. In 1997 he coached the running backs after serving as an offensive graduate assistant for two years.
Before coming to Kent State, Gonzales coached wide receivers at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Prior to that he spent the fall of 1994 at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill., coaching the receivers.
Gonzales is a 1994 graduate of Colorado State University. He earned four letters with the Rams as a wide receiver and kickoff/punt returner.
A native of Thornton, Colo., Gonzales was a two-sport letterwinner at Thornton High School. He helped lead his prep team to an 11-1 record and a number-two ranking in the state as a senior and earned honorable mention All-American honors by Street & Smith's. Gonzales earned all-state honors in both football and basketball.
Gonzales, born July 18, 1971, earned a bachelor's degree in social sciences from CSU. He also has received a master's degree in sport administration from Kent State.

DAVID SAYLER ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR FINANCIAL AFFAIRS
Sayler comes to BGSU after serving as senior consultant to the Colorado Department of Education this past year. He had served as Assistant Athletic Director for Business Services at the University of Houston since May of 1999. Sayler came to Houston after serving as the Assistant AD for Business at the University of Hartford. While at Hartford, Sayler managed the ticket office and oversaw all purchasing decisions, team travel and human resource decisions within the Athletic Department. He also served as the program administrator for the men's soccer program and women's soccer program, with the women's team reaching the "Sweet 16" round in the NCAA Championships.
Sayler went to Hartford after he served as the promotions director for women's sports at the University of Georgia from 1996-98. He created, implemented and coordinated the promotions for all women's sports. He marketed the first sell-out crowd in women's basketball history and produced five of the Top 10 crowds in the program's history. A native of Greenwich, Conn., Sayler worked two years as a marketing assistant at Connecticut and assisted in the generation of over $1 million in revenue each year.
Before he began working in athletics, Sayler was an Accounting Staff Consultant at Peterson Consulting, Ltd. Partnership in Chicago for two years, and a staff auditor for Ernst & Young in Cleveland, Ohio for one year. Sayler earned a bachelors in accounting at Ohio Wesleyan University in 1991, and finished among the top five accounting majors with a 3.8 GPA. He earned a master's degree in sport management at the University of Connecticut in 1996.
BRIAN CORVINO, DIRECTOR OF ATHLETIC PROMOTIONS
Corvino comes to BGSU after serving as assistant director of marketing and promotions at Youngstown State University since July of 1999. A resident of Poland, Ohio, Corvino is a 1998 graduate of BGSU having earned his degree in sport management. As a student, he assisted in the Falcons athletic ticket office.
He also worked for one year as a marketing intern at Cleveland State University. Corvino, who is single, earned his master's degree in sport management from Kent State.
