BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University department of athletics has announced that the Falcon football team has postponed its scheduled trip to South Carolina.
The following is a statement from BGSU Director of Athletics Paul Krebs:
"Due to the many unanswered logistical questions regarding safe and timely air travel this weekend and the fact the President of the United States of America has declared Friday as a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance, we feel it is in the best interests of our institution to postpone our participation in this weekend's football game at South Carolina.
"The graphic nature of this week's events have created an unprecedented level of anxiety among staff, student-athletes, parents and loved ones with regard to air travel.
"In an effort to relieve this anxiety that has increased over the last 24 hours, we were unable to receive assurance on questions that we believed were critical to ensure that travel did not hamper our preparation and participation in any way.
"It was our intent to play this game as scheduled and we will make every effort to reschedule the game this year."
