HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - BGSU HEAD COACH URBAN MEYER
"That was one of the toughest things I have had to do, talking to those guys after the game. Marshall showed why they win at home and why they have a winning tradition. They were behind pretty much the whole game, and they scored when it counted the most. I was very proud of the effort our team showed. It was a great effort game, it wasn't a well-executed game, but it was a great effort game. This is a tough loss. This is the time when coaching and senior leadership counts the most. The team was completely devastated, and I was glad to see that they were devastated. If they weren't devastated, then we would have some issues."
On his team's depth: "We have nowhere near the depth we need to have to play in a game like this. I have said that from day one. We had a couple breakdowns on special teams. That is something we need to address in recruiting. That is one of the reasons that Marshall is a winning program: they make the investment and have the depth. So, we have some work to do to find more depth."
On choosing to go with single coverage on MU's Darius Watts: "We have a really good player in number 21 (Janssen Patton). Watts is a great player and he showed some dynamic speed. Patton played against him very well. It was a great matchup, they won some and we won some. We really didn't need to double-cover them."
MARSHALL HEAD COACH BOB PRUETT
"That was a great football game, that was as good a football game as I have been in. Our players came together as a team tonight. Bowling Green is a really good football team, but so are we. I wasn't excited about the penalties. There were certainly some things we could have done better in the game. We played much, much better in the second half defensively. Offensively, we really did some good things tonight. We came together as a team. This was a very important hurdle for us because this is a divisional game. We have a number of guys that are going to be suspended in these next few games, but I don't have the option of which games they get to play in or not. I thought that our players fought hard."
