MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Patrick Jackson scored 24 points and Ball State made 17 of 18 free throws in the final 1:53 as the Cardinals beat Bowling Green 92-79 Wednesday night in a Mid-American Conference game.
The Cardinals (11-5, 4-1 MAC) made 38 of 45 shots at the line as they ended a 12-game winning streak by the Falcons (13-2, 3-1).
Ball State's 38 connecting shots from the line were the second most in school history, and the 45 attempts were the most in a game since the Cardinals shot 46 in a home game against Bowling Green on Feb. 5, 1997.
Theron Smith was 13-of-16 from the line for Ball State as he had his 10th double-double of the season and finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Chris Williams was 4-for-9 from behind the 3-point line for Ball State to finish with 18 points. Together, Williams and Jackson accounted for 13 of the Cardinals' last 16 points of the second half.
Bowling Green, which was 19 of 27 at the line, was led by Keith McLeod's game-high 36 points.
