Falcons 4th After First Round of EKU Invitational

Richmond, Ky. - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team is fourth out of 15 teams after day one at the Eastern Kentucky Invitational in Richmond, Ky. The Falcons have a team score of 310, but are just five strokes behind the leaders (Ohio and Western Kentucky - 305) and two strokes back of host EKU (308).
Senior Shelley Binzel is third overall with one-round score of 72. She is three strokes off of the tournament leader.
Other Falcons that carded 18 holes on Friday were Jenny Schnipke (75), Stephanie Elsea (76), Emily Hassen (87), Melanie Schroeder (88) and Kari Evans (86), who is competing as an individual.
The final round of the tournament will be held on Saturday (18 holes). The tournament is the conclusion of the fall season for BGSU.
