THIS WEEK The Falcon volleyball team, 0-5 in Mid-American Conference action and 5-12 overall, continues its five-game homestand this Friday and Saturday, October 11th and 12th. BG will take on Ohio University on Friday and Marshall University on Saturday. The OU match is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. while the Marshall match will begin at 7:00 p.m. in BGSU's Anderson Arena.
The Falcons have already faced the Bobcats of OU this season, in BG's first MAC match. Bowling Green lost the contest in three games on September 27 in Athens, Ohio. OU defeated the Falcons 30-25, 30-26, 30-20. At present, Ohio is 3-2 in MAC action and 13-4 overall. The Bobcats fell to Marshall last week in four games, but defeated Miami and Eastern Michigan in four and five sets, respectively. Leading the way for OU are junior hitters Lindsay Judice and Laura Hageman. Judice is averaging 3.10 kills-per-game while Hageman is averaging 3.15 kills-per-game. BG leads the all-time series 40-11.
Saturday's Falcon volleyball action will be against Marshall University. The Thundering Herd is currently 12-5 overall and 3-1 in MAC contests. MU is coming off an impressive week of action in which it saw victories vs. Ohio and Miami. The Herd defeated OU in four games on Tuesday (Oct. 2) and brought down the RedHawks Saturday (Oct. 5) in another four-game match. Marshall is led by junior outside hitter Tracey King who is averaging 3.61 kills-per-game. King slammed down 21 kills vs. Miami and posted a double-double with 16 digs. Bowling Green leads the all-time series 8-1.
