Falcons Take on Cleveland State in Rock and Roll Shootout

Cleveland, Ohio - The Balance Bar Rock-N-Roll Shootout presented by Kraft and Giant Eagle returns to Gund Arena on Saturday, December 28th. Bowling Green State University will tip off against Cleveland State University at 5:30 p.m. Boston College takes on Kent State University at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the event will go on sale this Saturday, November 23, at 10 a.m. at the Gund Arena box office, all TicketMaster centers including area Giant Eagles stores, online at www.ticketmaster.com and Charge-by-Phone at (Cleveland) 216-241-2121, (Akron) 330-945-9400, (Youngstown) 330-747-1212 and (Columbus) 614-431-3600. Part of the proceeds from the 2002 Balance Bar Rock-N-Roll Shootout will help fund a minority post-graduate scholarship in the memory of John McLendon, who passed away in October of 2000. A pioneer for African American athletics administrators, McLendon coached at Cleveland State University and was the person responsible for the integration of college basketball. CAVS/Gund Arena Company and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics have joined forces to fund a $15,000 scholarship for a Northeastern Ohio minority student pursuing a graduate degree in athletics administration.
