Meyer To Take Another Coaching Position

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green head football coach Urban Meyer has resigned his position in order to accept another coaching job, BGSU Director of Athletics Paul Krebs announced Wednesday morning. He informed Krebs and his team of his decision in separate meetings.
"Urban is one of the brightest stars in the coaching fraternity and he has left our program in tremendous shape," said Krebs. "We want to wish him and his family the best as they pursue new challenges in their lives and we thank them for their tireless efforts in promoting BGSU."
Meyer had a two-year record of 17-6 leading the Falcons to an 8-3 mark in 2001 and a 9-3 ledger in 2002. The Falcons were the nation's most improved team in 2001 (+6) as and were ranked for five weeks this past year in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. He was the 2001 MAC Coach of the Year.
