Cleveland, Ohio - Five players from the 2002 Bowling Green State University football team were among the 60 players honored today by the league's football coaches by being selected either first of second-team All-MAC.
Senior wide receiver Robert Redd was the Falcons lone first-team selection on offense, despite seeing the Falcons set league records for points scored and touchdowns. Redd set a BGSU record this season 83 receptions and his 973 yards was the second-most in school history. He also had nine TD catches.
Senior offensive tackle Dennis Wendel was a second-team selection at offensive line. Defensively, junior cornerback Janssen Patton (63 tackles, three interceptions) earned second-team honors for the second straight year. Senior nose tackle Alex Glantzis (59 tackles, 7 QB hurries) was named to the second-team as was senior linebacker Chris Haneline (95 tackles, 9 TFLs).
