Glantzis Signs Contract With The Detroit Lions

Bowling Green, Ohio - Former BGSU defensive end Chris Glantzis has a agreed to a rookie free agent contract with the Detroit Lions. He is the fourth Falcon to sign with an NFL team this week and the third member of a defensive line which finished seventh in the nation against the rush in 2001.
This past year, he was honored with the Orange Helmet Award for showing the most passion and spirit for football. He helped the Falcons finish third in turnover margin and seventh nationally against the rush and started all 11 games for the MAC's top defensive unit. He finished fourth on the team with 57 tackles, including 13 tackles for a loss and five sacks. He also forced a team-high four fumbles.
He is a native of Mentor who played his first two seasons at Youngstown State.
