Hunt Named MAC East POW for Third Time

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University's Kelly Hunt was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week for the third time this season on Monday night.
Hunt batted .429 (9-for-21) last week with with six home runs, 15 RBIs and 11 runs scored. The right-hander hit a home run in each of BGSU's five games last week. In MAC-only games, Hunt batted .500 vs. Akron with five homers and 12 RBIs. The junior, who had a 1.333 slugging percentage, drew three intentional walks and also had a double. Hunt had three multi-hit games and five multi-RBI contests. He was also error free in 48 chances at first base. His three-run homer on Sunday against Akron drove in the game-winning runs, which also clinched the Falcons' fourth East Division crown in five years. It also gave BGSU its first regular season title since 1995.
Hunt has established three school records this season with 22 homers, 80 RBIs and 165 total bases. He is four RBIs behind the MAC single-season record and two hits away from BGSU's single-season record, both set last year. Hunt leads the MAC in RBIs and is among the top-three MAC hitters in six different categories. He is among the national leaders in home runs per game and RBIs.
