Krouse Becomes Program’s Second Three-Time Recipient; Stade Eligible For Academic All-America
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Five members of the Bowling Green State University baseball team have been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). Andrew Heffernan, Zack Horky, Luke Krouse, Sam Seidel and Ethan Stade all were named to the team with Stade being selected as a finalist for CSC Academic All-America status. The Academic All-America teams will be announced on July 1. As for BGSU, the five selections are tied for the most for the Falcons in a single season in program history, matching the total from the 2024 campaign.
Of those named, Krouse is the lone Falcon on the list to receive the recognition in consecutive years, becoming the second three-time recipient in program history, joining John Maroli who was named three times from 1983-85.
Andrew Heffernan, Junior, Individualized Studies, 3.75 GPA
A native of South Portland, Maine, Andrew Heffernan appeared in 15 games for the Falcons with 10 starts on the mound. Heffernan totaled 60.1 innings of work for the Orange and Brown while striking out 42 opposing batters. Sam Seidel, Senior, Graphic Design, 3.68 GPA
Coming to Bowling Green from Greenwich, Ohio, Seidel appeared in and started 47 games for the Falcons this season. Ethan Stade, Redshirt Senior, Individualized Studies, 3.90 GPA
From New Ulm, Minnesota, Ethan Stade earned All-MAC First Team honors following the season after etching his name across the Bowling Green baseball record book strikeouts section. He tallied 103 strikeouts, becoming the third Falcon in program history to reach triple-digits in one season, finishing the season third on the single-season leaderboard while ranking 21st in the nation. Additionally, Stade averaged 14.5 strikeouts per nine, sixth in the nation. He struck out six or more in each of his last nine outings, as well as 10 of his last 11, including a season-high 15 in his final home start, the most strikeouts by a Falcon in over 25 years. In addition to his high strikeouts totals, Stade limited walks on the year, allowing just 20 bases on balls. The mark allowed him to maintain a 5.15 strikeout-to-walk ratio, ranking 28th in the country. He also managed a 1.14 WHIP, 76th in the nation. Stade kept hit totals low as well, holding opponents to just a .220 batting average, third in the MAC, while allowing only 7.5 hits per nine innings, fourth in the MAC. Over the course of the season, Stade tallied a trio of wins for the Falcons, tied for the team lead, while also logging a save for the Orange and Brown.
