FALCON FOOTBALL TRAINING CAMP NOTES
The Falcons will end training camp on August 22nd. Following a day off on Friday, BGSU will begin its regular weekly practice routine on Saturday, August 24. The Falcons will host Tennessee Tech on August 29.
FALCON DEPTH CHART SHOWS YOUTH
Coach Meyer and his staff have compiled their first depth chart since training camp began. There appears to be no changes in the starting lineup since spring practice, but competition has been intense. Twenty-four of the 49 players listed on offense and defense are either freshman or sophomores. In addition, 15 players on the depth chart have never played a down of college football, including five true freshman.
Redshirt freshman John Nicholson has moved from wide receiver to defensive back.
INJURY REPORT
Senior defensive lineman Will Teague will be out for the season with an ankle injury. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday.
Sophomore defensive lineman Andy Grubb broke a bone in his right foot and is out indefinitely. He is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday.
TIME WARNER OF WESTERN OHIO TO TELEVISE TWO FALCON GAMES
The BGSU athletic department and Time Warner Cable of Western Ohio are finalizing an agreement to show two BGSU games this season on a tape-delayed basis. The primary areas served are systems based out of Dayton and Findlay. Time Warner would air the Tennessee Tech game on Saturday, August 31 at 10 p.m. and would show the Ball State game on Sunday October 27 at 9 p.m. Area clearances are still being confirmed so check your local listings or call your Time Warner cable system to verify time and channel. Time Warner of Western Ohio has approximately 456,000 subscribers.
