BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Susie Norris is the Bowling Green State University Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Norris, a junior left-side hitter on the BGSU volleyball team, hit a team-high .360 as the Falcons opened the 2002 season by splitting four matches. Norris was named to the all-tournament team at the Pittsburgh Invitational. She had a pair of double-doubles at the tourney, with 19 kills and 26 digs in a win over Indiana State, and 18 kills and 17 digs vs. host Pitt.
Norris, a native of Bascom, Ohio, hit .450 with 12 kills in a season-opening win over Oakland. In the Duke match at the Pitt tourney, she hit .432 with 23 kills.
On the week, Norris had 72 kills (4.50 per game) and 61 digs (3.81 per game), leading the team in both categories. Norris, a graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School, has a 3.89 cumulative GPA as an elementary education major.
