Falcons Open Season With Victory Over Western Michigan

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics program began the 2003 season with a victory over Western Michigan, posting a score of 192.850-192.375, at Eppler Center Sunday afternoon.
The Falcons were lead by freshman Jessica Guyer, who took home top honors in the meet winning the all-around with a score of 38.400. Guyer claimed second place on the vault (9.725) as well as second on the floor (9.875).
Fellow freshman Marie-Eve Boisvert and junior co-captain Melissa Popovich claimed top prize on the uneven bars with scores of 9.750. Popovich also posted a 9.900 on the floor to take home another first place finish.
Pia Sjovall scored a 9.800 on the beam for a first place finish as well as a 9.875 on the floor for a second place finish.
The Falcons will travel to Florida to compete in a tri-meet versus Florida, Kentucky and Minnesota on January 24.
