FALCONS AND BOBCATS LOOK TO END STREAKS
The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak when it travels to Ohio, Tuesday night. The Bobcats also will be looking to snap a two-game home losing streak when it takes on the Falcons. BGSU is 3-0 (Buffalo, Kent State and Akron) against the MAC East this season, while Ohio is 0-3 (Toledo, Central Michigan and Northern Illinois) against the MAC West on the year. The Bobcats will be the fourth straight opponent to have a week off before playing BGSU.
THE SERIES
BGSU leads the series 61-50. Last year, the Falcons won at home, 80-64, but lost in Athens, 85-78 in the final game of the regular season. The Falcons last win at "The Convo" came two seasons ago when it captured a 78-68 triumph.
REIMOLD BECOMING ONE OF THE MAC'S TOP SHOOTERS
Sophomore forward John Reimold is shooting 56.1% from the field and 53.1% from three-point range in eight MAC games this season. He is averaging a team-best 17.1 points against the league and 15.6 overall. Reimold, who was named MAC West Player of the Week on December 30, had 18 points against Northern Illinois, and tied his season-best with five treys. He is second in the MAC in three-point field goal percentage (46.6) and third in triples per game (3.0). He made all four three-point attempts and had a team-best 20 points against WMU, his fourth 20+ point effort of the year. He had 21 against Akron and scored a team-high 23 points to lead BGSU over Kent State. He had 18 points and a season-high nine rebounds to lead BGSU against Northern Illinois. He had a season-high 24 points against Cleveland State. Against Buffalo, he scored 19 points and hit five-of-seven from three-point range. He followed that up with 17 points at Northwestern, including five of six from long distance. Reimold was the MAAC Freshman of the Year in 2001 at Loyola (Md.).
MOSS IS LATEST FALCON TO MAKE FIRST CAREER START
Freshman Raheem Moss became the fifth Falcon this season to make his first career start when he was penciled in the starting lineup against Northern Illinois. Moss joins freshman Ron Lewis, sophomore John Reimold, sophomore Cory Eyink, and junior Jabari Mattox as players who had never started a game for BGSU entering the season. The Falcons began the 2002-03 campaign with 19 career starts (Ryan 7, Almanson 5, Netter 4, Fitch 3) amongst its 12-man squad.
