The win over the Bobcats was the second-best comeback during the six-year tenure of Coach Dan Dakich, who won his 99th game with the Falcons. BGSU twice trailed by 16 before outscoring OU 27-7 over the final 8:41 of regulation and the five minute overtime period. The Falcons rallied from a 24-point deficit earlier this month at Kent State and came back on Western Michigan after the Broncos built a 14-point lead in the first round of the 2001 MAC Tournament at BGSU.
The Falcons have won 18 straight games since the 2000-2001 season when it has held an opponent to 60 points or less.
The Bobcats were two for 17 from the field in the final 15:29 including the overtime period.
BGSU outscored the Bobcats, 11-2, on second chance points. In the final 13 minutes of the game, BGSU had seven offensive rebounds, while Ohio had just one.
The Falcons committed a season-low 11 turnovers and 16 fouls.
BGSU improved to 4-0 against the MAC East this season (Buffalo, Akron, Kent State and Ohio).
The road overtime win was the Falcons first on an opponents' home floor since defeating Miami, 67-63, on February 3, 2001. The Falcons lost in overtime last year at Akron and Toledo and defeated Mississippi in Fairbanks, Alaska and UNC-Wilmington at Anderson Arena in OT contests.
Junior center Kevin Netter scored all eight of the Falcons points in overtime and had 20 in the second half and overtime combined. His 23 points is his highest output since he scored 26 against Alabama 11 games ago. His 10 rebounds ties his career-high (vs. Oakland) and gives him his second double-double of his career. Netter also had three blocked shots for the second straight game. Netter, who made six of seven free throw attempts in overtime, tried a career-high 16 free throws.
Freshman Ron Lewis had his first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. His 11 caroms are the most by a Falcon this season. He added four assists and a steal.
Sophomore John Reimold tried a career-high 14 three-point field goal attempts and made five. His final trey with 40 seconds left in regulation forced overtime. He has made 14 three-pointers in the last three games.
Netter (44 minutes), Reimold (43), Lewis (41), and sophomore Cory Eyink (41) all established career-high's for minutes played.
Freshman Raheem Moss had four points in three minutes in the first half to help lower the Falcons deficit.
Senior Cory Ryan had a key three-pointer and three assists.
Eyink had five late points and a career-high two steals.
