Falcons Picked Second In West Division

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team has been picked to finish second in the Mid-American Conference's West Division, according to members of the MAC News Media Association. The poll was released at Wednesday's (Oct. 23) preseason media event at Cleveland's Gund Arena.
The Falcons received 245 points, finishing behind Northern Illinois. The Huskies picked up 28 first-place votes, to 13 for the Falcons, four for Western Michigan, and one each for Ball State, Central Michigan and Toledo.
WMU was picked to place third in the West, followed by BSU, UT, CMU and Eastern Michigan. In the East, Miami was picked to finish first, followed by Akron, Kent State, Marshall, Ohio and Buffalo.
The Falcons of head coach Dan Dakich return all five starters from an injury-riddled team which finished 13-16 last season, but advanced to the MAC Tournament quarterfinals at Gund Arena.
