BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Craig Jarrett is the Bowling Green State University Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Jarrett, a senior on the BGSU football team, helped the Falcons to a win over #12 Northern Illinois last weekend.
Jarrett, a native of Bellevue, Ohio (Bellevue HS), caught a career-long 44-yard pass from Josh Harris on the second play from scrimmage, setting up the Falcons' first touchdown in the 34-18 win over the Huskies.
The Falcons scored five plays later, then added a second TD to take a 14-0 lead with 12:01 left in the first quarter.
On the season, Jarrett has four receptions for a total of 82 yards (an average of 20.5 yards per catch). A tight end, Jarrett is a 2003 Falcon captain.
Jarrett, a biology/chemistry major, maintains a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average.
The Falcons, now 7-1 overall and 4-0 in MAC play, prepare to take on the MAC's other unbeaten team. The West Division-leading Falcons will travel to Oxford to face Miami University (7-1, 4-0), the first-place team in the East. That game, scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start Tuesday (Nov. 4), will be televised nationally by ESPN2.
