Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University men's basketball coach Dan Dakich has announced that Scott VanderMeer, a 6-11 center from St. John, Indiana, has signed a national letter of intent to attend BGSU and play basketball for the Falcons next season. He is currently enrolled at Lake Central High School.
"We are very excited to have Scott as a member of our program," said Dakich. "He is an outstanding student (3.94 GPA) and a very skilled player that can play all over the court."
He averaged seven points and seven rebounds as a junior at Andrew High School in Tinley Park, Ill., and averaged 10 points for the Illinois Warriors in AAU ball. His sister, Dawn, is a sophomore center for the women's basketball team at Valparaiso.
