Falcon Hockey Signs Two Players

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University hockey coach Scott Paluch announced today the addition of two student-athletes to the Falcons' 2004-05 recruiting class. Forwards Alex Foster (Danville-USHL) and Jonathan Matsumoto (Cumberland-CJHL) have signed letters-of-intent to attend BGSU.
"Both were heavily-recruited players that we are happy to have coming to Bowling Green," said Paluch. "They both bring a real good offensive dimension to our team. They have a strong work ethic that will fit in nicely with our program."
"Foster brings a great two-way package and has the ability to score at a high level. Matsumoto has top-notch offensive intelligence with the ability to play strong and make plays."
Alex Foster (Forward, shoots left, 6-1, 190, Canton, Mich.)
Foster is currently in his second season with the Danville Wings (Danville, Ill.) of the United States Hockey League. He is third in the USHL in scoring with 13-8--21 in just 16 games with 32 PIM. Foster leads the league with six power-play goals and is tied for the league lead with two short-handed goals. Danville is currently the top team in the East Division of the USHL with a 11-2-3 record. Last season, Foster registered 9-18--27 with 38 PIM in 43 games for the Wings. He is the son of Dwight and Maryann Foster.

Jonathan Matsumoto (Forward, shoots left, 6-0, 184, Orleans, Ontario)
Matsumoto is in his first year with the Cumberland Grads of the Central Junior A Hockey League, which is based out of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He leads all rookies in the league with 10-14--24 in 17 games this season. The Grads lead the CJHL with their 14-4-2 record. Two years ago, Matsumoto was invited to try out for the2002 Team Ontario Under-17 training camp. He is the son of Nelson and Winora Matsumoto.
