CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -
QUOTES FROM BGSU COACH Curt Miller
"It was a great college basketball game. Both teams played hard, both teams played well, and both teams were making plays down the stretch, so it was an exciting game. I was really proud of our kids; I felt like we really competed, and played at a high level. Coming out of this tournament, I am excited about the way we keep improving."
"We put ourselves in position to win a game on the road, leading by four points with just under five minutes to go. But, to their (TAMU-CC) credit, they stepped up and made big shots at crunch time. My hat is off to them for making plays down the stretch; they made three three's from the four-and-a-half minute mark to the two-and-a-half minute mark, which sealed the victory for them."
"I was very pleased that Stefanie Wenzel and Ali Mann were recognized for their outstanding play, as both were named to the all-tournament team. Obviously, Stefanie stepped up and played a tremendous game for us in the championship game. She made big shot after big shot, and kept us in the game. She tried to put us on her back and take us to victory, but it just wasn't quite enough."
"But, overall, I am very happy with our play in the tournament. We played against two very good programs. We continue to get better every day, and that is our goal during non-conference play. We look to continue to find ways to improve as the season goes along. Those two games will benefit us in the long run, come conference time. Both teams that we played will have good seasons, with a chance to win 20 games. We're pleased with the weekend, and we look forward to getting back to Bowling Green and preparing for a very talented Bucknell team."
